Student reflections on the project:

“I have been able to take from this project a new sense of compassion for the people that I encounter every day. You never know what types of events have shaped people’s lives. And all too often we as people are quick to make judgments about others when we have no idea who they are and what they might have gone through or are currently going through in their personal lives.

“I have learned a new perspective on how to assess the things that can make life easier for someone with special needs or disabilities. The things that most of us do from day to day and never think twice about can be very difficult or tedious tasks for people like Hana.

“I have also learned not to take the blessings in my life for granted. Life can change in the blink of an eye. I admire the courage and the strength of the Choi family to be able to carry on with their lives in light of what they have been through.”
