“There is no one alive who is Youer than You”

Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!”

Dr. Seuss had a lot of great things to say. Not only did he teach us about red fish and blue fish, the importance of eating green eggs and ham, or how much fun a cat wearing a hat can be, but he also authored a great lesson about following your dreams.

“You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You’re on your own.  And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.”

This is such a great quote. It says so much in just six lines. By choosing Butler as that first step into the “real world”, you have awarded yourself the ability to use the brain in your head and the feet in your shoes wherever you want to go.

Now that’s power.

The power to dream. The power to choose your destiny. The power to take your future for an inspiring ride. The power to climb that Seussical mountain. Sure, sometimes it’s a struggle. You have work, homework, early mornings, late nights, tough tests, killer assignments, financing issues. But keep in mind the good. Completing that paper, acing that test, good friends, great instructors…and learning for a change. And always remember this profound truth from a wonderful dreamer:

“And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)

Yes you can! And yes you will. So, the only question is …

… Where will power take you?

“…You’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!”
… Go!
