Butler’s Marketing Team Wins Gold Addy for Television in Best of Advertising Competition

The marketing communications department at Butler Community College took home one Gold Addy, four Silver Addys and a Bronze Addy at this year’s Addy Awards. The awards were presented Thursday, Feb. 17 at City Arts by the American Advertising Federation of Wichita.

Butler received a Gold Addy for their 30-second “Where Will Power Take You?” television commercial. Butler worked with Justin McClure, former Butler Grizzlies baseball player and owner of JustinMcClure.tv, on the fun, animated, hand-drawn, stop-frame spot.  

Butler also received four Silver Addys for their Annual Report; Butler Admissions Viewbook; “Where Will Power Take You” print ad campaign; and the Butler Community College Foundation “Inspire. Empower. Transform.” booklet. Butler received a Bronze Addy for, “It’s Powerful Being a Grizzly” ad that featured former Grizzly basketball star Caleb Walker.

Other awards Butler received were: Bronze Addy for the Butler Community College Foundation Winter Magazine, produced by Start-Thinking; and a Silver Addy for Truth Sculpture photography – one of the featured pieces of Butler’s Art Without Walls sculpture garden and used as the cover of the Foundation Magazine – by Craig Hacker Photography.

The Addy Awards bring together top creative talent in the region that this year represented 183 entries from advertising agencies, design firms and in-house marketing teams including JustinMcClure.tv; Howerton+White; Armstrong Shank; Associated Advertising; Sullivan, Higdon & Sink; Koch Creative Group; Intake Studios and others.
